I take inspiration from strong women and my rich Lebanese heritage. As a fourth generation jeweler, I have hundreds of years of jewelry knowledge and expertise.

My story and inspirations

My passion for jewelry has been past down many generations of jewelers. I am a 4th generation Lebanese American jeweler, and as the eldest daughter I have been working/learning/growing along side my father for over 15 years.

As an apprentice to the entire jewelry making process, my passion for jewelry only grew and I have been itching to design my own jewelry collection in my own voice, Elissa.

Experience & Training

  • I received a bachelors of science in business administration at the University of California Riverside.
    I started full time working with my father's jewelry manufacturing business. During this time I was an apprentice to jewelry repair/watches/jewelry design and gemology.

    I have also taken supplemental courses at GIA (Gemological Institute of America). My jewelry education has spanned from the old form of teaching to the new.

Who is Elissar?

I was named after Elissar (Dido in Greek mythology) who was a brilliant Phoenician queen (now modern day Lebanon). As a lot of girls born in Lebanon, we have been given the name sake, Elissa or Elissar, because Elissar famously used her wit and strength to build the city of Carthage.
To sum it up, she outsmarted a lot of men and was able to bring business and life to the area where she reigned.
When it was time to name my company that is inspired by strong women throughout history, how could I not name my jewelry line,
Elissar Couture.
